Kumho Tire USA has introduced two new all-season tires designed to serve different driver needs in the replacement market. The Crugen GT Pro targets owners of crossovers and SUVs seeking a comfortable, quiet ride, while the Road Venture HT delivers winter capability for pickup and SUV drivers. Both models arrive with electric-vehicle compatible ratings and reflect how manufacturers are responding to the continued dominance of SUVs and crossovers in the U.S. vehicle market.
Crugen GT Pro: Comfort and Coverage
The Crugen GT Pro launches with 85 different sizes fitting 16 through 22 inch wheels. Kumho says this range covers more than 85 percent of today’s crossover and SUV market, with particular emphasis on the larger 20 to 22 inch fitments that buyers increasingly prefer. The tire’s engineering targets the challenges posed by heavier vehicles and the immediate torque delivery of modern electric SUVs. Reinforced shoulder blocks and a zigzag tread pattern work together to minimize wheel slip and maintain stability under demanding conditions.
Tread longevity and cabin quiet rank as the core selling points. K-Maxmile technology pairs a wear-resistant compound with a flatter profile and wider ribs to distribute pressure more evenly across the tread surface. Kumho reports up to 20 percent better wear resistance compared to its predecessor. The tire carries a 75,000 mile limited treadwear warranty on H and V speed ratings, and 65,000 miles on W speed ratings. K-Noise Defender technology reduces cabin noise by up to 0.8 decibels through resonance-reducing groove elements and rounded block edges that soften impacts.
For wet and light snow conditions, wave-shaped 3D sipes and wider lateral grooves provide additional biting edges and water evacuation. Testing shows a 4 percent improvement in wet braking and an 11 percent higher snow traction index versus the previous generation. However, the Crugen GT Pro does not carry the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certification, positioning it as a conventional all-season tire for light snow rather than severe winter use. The tire begins shipping to authorized dealers in August ahead of a September consumer launch.
Road Venture HT: Winter Confidence for Truck Drivers

The Road Venture HT takes a different approach, targeting drivers who spend most time on pavement but still require pickup and SUV tire construction. This highway-terrain tire arrives in both standard and LT metric sizes and carries the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake rating, indicating it meets prescribed snow traction performance thresholds. As tire manufacturers continue innovating across their lineups, the Road Venture HT represents a middle ground between conventional highway all-season tires and aggressive all-terrain patterns.
The tire uses a flexible compound designed to maintain performance in cold conditions, paired with zigzag and straight grooves plus wave-shaped sipes that create additional biting edges. Kumho’s testing shows a 7 percent improvement in wet braking and 13 percent better wet handling compared to its predecessor. A high-grip resin, four wide circumferential grooves, and gradually widening shoulder grooves enhance water evacuation on wet pavement.
Wear characteristics reflect a new polymer compound with High Dispersible Micro silica designed to improve both longevity and wet grip. Kumho reports a 10 percent improvement in tread life and a 14 percent gain in wear resistance versus the previous Road Venture generation. The tire’s two polyester casing plies, steel belts, and polyamide cap ply provide high-speed stability, while reinforced body plies and higher block stiffness address the weight and torque delivery of electric vehicles. An 820 A A UTQG rating appears on applicable passenger sizes, which Kumho describes as tied for the highest in its competitive segment. Buyers shopping for truck tires should compare warranty terms and seasonal ratings to ensure the right fit for their driving needs.
The Road Venture HT launched in June with over 40 sizes spanning 15 through 22 inch wheels, with an additional 14 sizes planned for 2027. P-metric sizes carry a 75,000 mile limited treadwear warranty, while LT-metric sizes include a 50,000 mile warranty. A road hazard warranty and 30 day satisfaction guarantee round out the package.
What This Means for Shoppers
These launches reflect a clear industry reality: SUVs and crossovers now dominate U.S. vehicle sales, and tire manufacturers must serve this market with purpose-built options. The Crugen GT Pro addresses comfort-focused buyers who prioritize quiet rides and long tread life for family vehicles. The Road Venture HT serves work truck owners and truck enthusiasts who demand winter capability without sacrificing highway manners or tire longevity.
Both tires carry EV-compatible designations, signaling how quickly electric powertrains are reshaping tire engineering demands. Before purchasing, confirm that your wheel size appears in the available fitment range and verify which warranty terms apply. Consider your typical driving environment: light winter conditions favor the Crugen GT Pro, while severe snow exposure or year round performance demands warrant the Road Venture HT’s Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certification.
